Disaster Course

The Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness Course was an enormous success last year and places were filled by the end of the year. This one day course developed by trauma surgeons and nurses experienced in disasters is intended to provide knowledge in all-hazards hospital disaster management and preparedness.

Training consists of interactive lectures, case scenarios and role playing. The course is taught by prominent international and national faculty. This course is targeted at those acute care providers (surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency medicine physicians and their senior residents, ER, OR, ICU and Trauma nurses and prehospital professionals) who will be the most likely first receivers of casualties following a major disaster.

·     Disaster Response Organization and Execution

·     Medical Management of Mass Casualties

·     Pathophysiology and Patterns of Injury

·     Post-Disaster Assessment and Recovery
